Still around…

November 10, 2009

just not so full of bloggy news. gearing up for Agatha’s birthday, Christmas here and away, and, of course, MilleyBirthdaySeason tm. am a little bummed, as usual, what with the relentlessly soggy dark weather, and anxiety around all those events i just mentioned. also, and there’s no easy way to write this without sounding attention-craving, or too blase, but my gramma died last week after suffering the indignity known as “Alzheimer’s” for far too long a time. oh, and i messed my back up. again, it’s difficult to write about such things whilst striking the ‘right’ tone: i am sad, but not too sad. i am down, but not too down.
on a lighter note, i am craftily planning for agatha’s fairy tea party birthday party. 9 pairs of wings, 9 wands, 18 metres of tulle, 5 m elastic, various bobbles and craft supplies have been purchased. we have designed invitations…okay, we have modified a template in Publisher, which we will print out, address, cover in fairy stickers and mail to 8 lucky invitees. there will be crown making, cookie decorating, pass the parcelling, and general merriment. am looking forward to it, and to taking pictures of it for your bemusement.
so…that’s really about it for now. i hope that the fall is finding you still chipper, or at least, cozy and not ill. Question o’ the day: what’s the best thing about November?

The only good thing about November is my birthday. Wish I could have a fairy tea party birthday party too! It sounds wonderful!
I’m sorry about your grandmother. Hope your back is better soon.

So sorry about your grandma. My mom has been in an Alzheimer cloud for a few years now.
I’m also a November birthday girl, and I’m also wishing for a fairy tea party birthday. I guess us older folks have to find another way to dispend our disbelief for a few hours! Do post pictures though; they bring joy to my life. And believe it or not; MY back, out of the blue, started bothering me on Saturday! I’m doing heat and ice, and trying to lie flat on my back whenever possible. It can’t be “the weather” because my weather is currently the opposite of yours. Keep posting. I love your posts.

The best thing about November is that it goes by quickly because there is always lots to do to prepare for the myriad of December festivities. And, every now and again, there is a warmish sunny day.

That there are only 30 days in it. Even one more would be torture.

That was meant to sound more sarcastic and less suicidal. :) November is lovely if you’re a duck, or a duck-tolling retriever.

November is part of fall, which is enough for me to love it! Sorry to hear about your Grandma, Jenn. The fairy tea party sounds marvelous!
