Well, today we’re off to celebrate with other Milleys (Happy Birthday Barbie!).  We’d also like to celebrate with the Cant family, too (Happy Birthday, Dad!)

That said, i’m just posting some photos of my latest samples….will force you to view more as time permits:

last time, they came from Earl’s blackberry.  this time, i pilfered them from the lovely heather sanderson’s facebook page (since she’s with me in the photo, i’m guessing it’s probably okay ;)

A Photo Puzzle for You.

those of you with a working knowledge of our house will have an unfair advantage, but try anyway:  what change (in our house) do these photos reveal?

and, as if to demonstrate how rough the last couple of days have been, check out what happened while i was vacuuming:

So…i’ll be waiting for your guesses…..

Floral fun.

*Sickness Update*: Edmund has now joined the UpChuck Corps….wow, it’s looking like a great week! :) seriously, though, if i haven’t called you to catch up in awhile (and you know who you are), i hope you’ll understand that i’m putting a black mark on the door, and warning everyone to stay away…now i must go and assist Sir WhinesALot in his quest for toast….

The bride was indeed resplendent in a sweepingly dramatic taffeta gown, the groom and attendants dashingly handsome, the bridesmaids elegantly attired in sumptuous raspberry satin. The ringbearer made his way smartly to the front of the church, his lovely sisters, flowergirls, not far behind. Then, a lone figure swayed uncertainly up the aisle, gently nudged forward by helpful hands, pale and ghostly. Enter Agatha, in her second (!) flowergirl dress of the day, very unwell but determined to do her part.

In fact, half an hour before the wedding, after holding everything down for more than 24 hrs, after everyone was dressed in wedding finery and the bride about to greet her father and make her way to the car, Agatha was sick all over the carpet. Everyone was exceedingly gracious about the whole proceeding, especially the bride, and the bridal party morphed into a cleaning crew and back into formal attire without missing a beat.

Despite her parents’ stress and concern, and thanks to Vanessa’s providential supply of Gravol, neither Agatha nor her brother had any more accidents for the rest of the night. In fact, as the snapshots below indicate, she partied hard with her cousins and tyrannically held sway over the playroom for the duration of the reception. I attach some random shots of the few things i managed to photograph, and the blackberry shots taken of the kids, but i will follow up with ‘official’ photos when they become available.

And, where are we now?

Well, edmund and i are still having digestive issues. agatha is her talkative self again, but still a little pale:

And, what says class better than a velcro tie, and breakfast-besmeared jammies?

I will post some flower photos shortly, but for now, I’ll bid you all adieu. tara and martin, congrats, and have a lovely holiday. milley family and co., thanks for everything. to all our other friends and family, thanks for your continuing interest, love and support in our lives….

Until today,

I obviously didn’t know what a care package was.  but i’m getting ahead of myself.  firstly, we’re all sick.  i mean, spending a lot of time in the bathroom sick.   i mean barely conscious  sick.  good times.  so,  earlier today i had to phone vanessa and ask her to pick up some gingerale and pedialyte.  and, this is what she brought to our door:

wow.  thanks.  and now that all of you know that we’re still alive, i need to go back to attending to my sick fam…oh, and did i mention that the MilleyFestWedding2008 extravaganza is tomorrow?  or that we exposed the whole family (unknowingly) to this heinous virus?  or that edmund has croup? well, now you know.  laissez le bon temps rouler, i say. :)

question o’ the sick day: what is your favourite post-sickness comfort item?

things that are funny.

April 12, 2008

like this cartoon vanessa just sent me:

oh, and i’ve been sewing all day, but have loaned out the camera, so alas, you will have to wait for your weekly dose of run-on sentences and jenn creations.  by “dose”, do i mean something to contribute to your general health and well-being, or do i mean something i force upon you whether you like it or not?  you decide.  now i’m going to sit in the dark eating soggy cereal and watching torchwood.  i could link to it, but i’m too tired. ciao.

What’s up with me

April 8, 2008

with a family wedding close at hand, we’ve been busy, to say the least.  which partly explains why i haven’t been my usual verbose self as of late.  otherwise, i’ve been trying to compose a resume (!), work on some more sample dresses, finish a ballet sweater i’m knitting, start a pirate sweater, read Artemis Fowl, bake with my kiddies, run, do laundry, clean the house, and keep up with all the people i love.  so…yeah.

I do have a question o’ the day, though:  What makes you say to yourself, “Self, that was fun!”?  What’s the essence of a fun experience?  i really want to know.

i wish i could wax philosophical right now, but it took me three tries to spell “philosophical” correctly, so maybe that’s my cue to shut up.

just for the record, it doesn’t normally take me three tries to spell it correctly.  really.

i post pictures of my family.
